Title: Curative effect of kangfuyan capsule combined with antibiotic treatment on pelvic inflammatory disease
Authors: Wang, Lu; Chen, Yi; Ouyang, Yin-Luan; Wang, Feng-Wei; Zhang, Run-Ju; Chen, Xiao
Abstract: This study aims to investigate the curative effect of Kangfuyan capsule in the treatment of damp-heat and blood stasis type of pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), and its influence on serum inflammatory factors IL-6, CRP and TNF-α. A total of 83 patients with PID were randomly divided into two groups: Western medicine group (control group, n=41) received oral antibiotics (azithromycin + metronidazole) alone and the traditional Chinese medicine combined with Western medicine group (experimental group, n=42) received Kangfuyan capsule based on Western medicine therapy. Clinical efficacy between these two groups and the influence of drugs in serum inflammatory factors (IL-6, CRP and TNF-α) were compared. The total effective rate was 78.05% in the control group and 97.62% in the experimental group and difference between these two groups was statistically significant (P<0.01). The symptoms and signs in the two groups significantly improved after treatment (P<0.05) and improvement rate was significantly better in the experimental group than in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, serum inflammatory factor levels in the two groups were significantly lower than levels before treatment (P<0.05) and improvement rate was significantly better in the experimental group than in the control group (P<0.05). Kangfuyan capsule combined with antibiotics can effectively relieve the symptoms and signs of patients, improve the efficiency of treatment, provide high safety, and does not increase adverse reactions.

Abstract: To explore the effect of metoprolol tartrate tablets and recombinant human natriuretic peptide B (NPPB) on sudden cardiac death and malignant arrhythmias in patients with acute myocardial infarction and patients with heart failure (AMI-HF). A total of 105 AMI-HF patients treatedfrom January 2020 and June 2021 were enrolled and divided into Group I (n=53) and Group II (n=52). Both groups received conventional treatment, and Group II was additionally treated with metoprolol tartrate tablets and NPPB. The clinical observation indicators of the two groups of patients were compared. Group II had better left ventricular end diastolic diameter (LVEDd), left ventricular end systolic diameter (LVESD) and left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) (p<0.05). The standard deviation of NN (R-R) interval (SDNN), mean NN (R-R), root mean square of continuous difference (RMSSD) and the percentage of difference between adjacent RR intervals >50ms (pNN50) increased after treatment, with more increase in the Group II (p<0.05). Group II obtained significantly lower levels of B type natriuretic peptide (BNP),N terminal pro B type natriuretic peptide (NT-ProBNP), interleukin (IL)-6 and hs-CRP in contrast to Group I (p<0.05). Markedly higher total response rates were observed in Group II (p<0.05). The combination of metoprolol tartrate tablets and NPPB is effective in treating AMI-HF.

Correlation between serum vitamin D expression and changes of immune indexes in children with pneumonia of different degrees

Title: Correlation between serum vitamin D expression and changes of immune indexes in children with pneumonia of different degrees
Authors: Zhang, Hui; Luo, Min
Abstract: To explore the correlation between serum vitamin D expression and changes in immune indicators in children with different degrees of pneumonia. From January 2019 to January 2020, 60 children with pneumonia admitted to our hospital and 30 healthy children who came to our hospital for physical examination were selected as the research subjects, and divided into the severe group (severe pneumonia) and the mild group (mild pneumonia), each 30 cases, and 30 healthy children were set as control group. The serum vitamin D level was observed and detected, and its correlation with humoral and cellular immune indicators were analyzed. Remarkably better results was observed in the control group than the other groups in terms of rate of serum vitamin D deficiency, humoral immunity indexes, cellular immune indexes, the CRP index and the IL-6 index (all p<0.05). Vitamin D expression is positively correlated with immune indexes. There is a certain correlation between serum vitamin D expression and immune indicators. Insufficient serum vitamin D expression gives rise to decreased immune function indicators. Taken together, early detection of children's vitamin D indicators is conducive to understand the severity of the child's condition, and beneficial for the later treatment as well.

Effects of sodium hyaluronate combined with rhEGF eye drops in patients with dry eye

Title: Effects of sodium hyaluronate combined with rhEGF eye drops in patients with dry eye
Authors: Ren, Weina; Chen, Tingting; Dong, Wenpeng; Tong, Qihu
Abstract: To analyze the effects of sodium hyaluronate combined with recombinant human epidermal growth factor (rhEGF) eye drops in patients with dry eye. Totally 97 patients who suffered dry eye after cataract surgery in our hospital from March 2018 to June 2020 were selected and randomly assigned into control group (n=57, sodium hyaluronate eye drops) and intervention group (n=63, sodium hyaluronate combined with rhEGF eye drops). The clinical efficacy, Break Up Time (BUT), schirmer I test (SLt), fluorescent test (FL) and ocular surface disease index (OSDI), the scale of quality of life for disease with visual impairment (SQOL-DVI), interleukin-6 (IL-6), tumor necrosis factor (TNF-a) level of the two groups were compared. The intervention group yielded remarkably higher effective rate than the control group (p<0.05). Markedly higher BUT, SLt, SQOL-DVI scores and lower OSDI scores were witnessed among patients in the intervention group than the control group (p<0.05). The clinical effect of sodium hyaluronate combined with rhEGF eye drops in the treatment of dry eye is superior to sodium hyaluronate alone, in terms of enhancing the stability of tear film, accelerating corneal healing, inhibiting the level of inflammatory factors and improving patients’ quality of life.
