Title: RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PREVALENCE OF MASTITIS IN CROSS BRED COWS AND FARM MANAGEMENT CONDITIONS IN LAHORE, PUNJAB
Authors: Yaqoob, M; Umar, S.; Sajid, M.A.; Khan, M. I.; Memon, J.; Ali, S.; Riaz, A.; Din, M.
Abstract: The aim of study was to determine the relationship between widespread presence of
clinical/ sub-clinical mastitis and different conditions of farm management for Friesian x Sahiwal
(FxS) crossbred cows in Lahore district of Punjab, Pakistan. A total of 107 FxS crossbred cows were
selected from three dairy farms having different management conditions (A: Very good, B: Good and
C: Poor). The data of clinical and sub-clinical mastitis was collected using the cardinal sign
(inflammation of udder) and white side test. Overall incidence of mastitis was recorded 26.2%
including 12.72, 13.63 and 16.66% at farms with very good, good and poor management conditions,
respectively. However, sub-clinical mastitis was recorded 9.09, 13.63 and 16.66% at farms with very
good, good and poor management conditions. Prevalence of mastitis was 7.71% Sub-clinical and 7%
clinical in udder quarters. It was concluded that mastitis level has linear relation with management
conditions of farms.

IMPACT OF PERCEIVED SERVICE QUALITY ON CUSTOMER SATISFACTION: AN ASSESSMENT OF AGRICULTURAL LOANING SCHEMES OFFERED BY ZARAI TARAQIATI BANK

Title: IMPACT OF PERCEIVED SERVICE QUALITY ON CUSTOMER SATISFACTION: AN ASSESSMENT OF AGRICULTURAL LOANING SCHEMES OFFERED BY ZARAI TARAQIATI BANK
Authors: Ali, M.H.; Ayyub, R.M.; Bilal, M.; Sajjad, S.
Abstract: The agriculture sector is the blood line for Pakistan’s economy. The subsidies in the
form of loaning-schemes facilitate the flow of funds from areas of surplus to areas of deficit. The result
shows the significant impact of all variables towards customer satisfaction (P<0.01). An attempt has
been made in the study to ascertain the amount of gratification for farmers about agricultural finance
schemes provided by public sector banks to fulfill timely needs of farmers with reference to Zarai
Taraqiati Bank, Limited. In present study, erection of banking as regards to SERVQUAL
measurements via satisfaction of the farmers from the loan was studied. The relationship of service
quality dimensions were examined using structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis. The F-value
(64.17) of alterations is good which suggests the model is robust and fit, that means variation among
all variables are up to the mark. The study exposed that SERVQUAL dimensions (reliability,
tangibility, responsiveness, empathy, assurance) have influenced the customer satisfaction.

RESPONSE OF ALKALI TREATED RICE HUSK IN BUFFALO CALVES ON GROWTH, DRY MATTER INTAKE, NUTRIENT DIGESTIBILITY and BLOOD METABOLITES.

Title: RESPONSE OF ALKALI TREATED RICE HUSK IN BUFFALO CALVES ON GROWTH, DRY MATTER INTAKE, NUTRIENT DIGESTIBILITY and BLOOD METABOLITES.
Authors: Ahmad, F.; Asghar, A.; Wadood, F.; Yaseen, A; Akmal, M.; Mubeeen, M.; Qamar, M. I.; Mohyuddin, S.G.; Mujahid, N.
Abstract: A feeding plan was undertaken in Nili-Ravi growing male buffalo calves having age
of 6-8 months and 100-120 Kg live body weight to observe the effect of 2% alkali treated rice husk
contained in the diet on feed and growth performance. Rice husk was treated with 2% NaOH solution
(50 % water to substrate; weight/volume). Four different types of TMRs (1.2.3.4) were formulated and
TMR-1 served as control ration containing untreated 30% rice husk and TMRs-2,3,4 were test rations
and contained 10%,20%,and 30% alkali treated rice husk. Calves were divided into four groups (n=5)
and were allotted the diet randomly and stall feeding was practiced. Weighed quantity of each TMR
was offered daily and refusal was recorded after twenty four hours to calculate the actual quantity of
feed intake by the animals daily. In addition, 2 Kg of green fodder was also provided. The trial lasted
for 90 days along with 10 days as feed adjustment period. At end, a digestibility trial was conducted on
three animals of each group for three days. Blood samples were taken for BUN and blood glucose post
feeding two times during the trial. Statistically there was non-significant difference on growth
performance and feed efficiency in the animals of all groups. Digestibility of Dry Matter, CP, EE, Ash
and OM also revealed non-significant difference. Mean values of blood metabolites were apparently
higher in control group but statistically difference was non-significant. Results revealed some
improvement on growth, FCR, Nutrient Digestibility in animals fed on treated rice husk based diet.
Economically rice husk can be used in the formulation of diet for finishing the animals up to 30%
safely and without any hazard

INTENTION TO PURCHASE JUNK FOOD AMONG LONG SITTING WORKERS: A STUDY OF BANKING SECTOR IN PAKISTAN

Title: INTENTION TO PURCHASE JUNK FOOD AMONG LONG SITTING WORKERS: A STUDY OF BANKING SECTOR IN PAKISTAN
Authors: Ali, S.; Ayyub, R. M.
Abstract: The study was an attempt to investigate the intentions of the workers to purchase
junk food while working for long hours in stress environment. Theory of Planned Behavior (TBP) was
used to predict the food preferences of the workers working in banking sector of Pakistan. Data was
collected from the bank employees of Pakistan through research questionnaire. Convenient sampling
was used and sample size was n=250. Analysis was conducted on model using the structural equation
modeling (SEM). The study showed that attitude, and perceived behavioral control of long sitting
workers positively influenced their intentions to purchase junk food (P value < 0.05). However,
subjective norms & health consciousness negatively influenced their intentions to purchase junk food
(P value > 0.05).
