dc.description.abstractHuman Resource Management has many functions. Human Resource Development is just one of the functions within Human Resource Management. Human Resource Development is the frameworks for helping employees develop their personal skills, knowledge and abilities. Human Resource Development is a set of planned and systematic activities designed by an organization or Human Resource Department to provide its employees with the necessary skills to meet current and future demands of organization and society. This study was aimed to assess the deficiencies in in-service training contents/design for Teachers at primary and secondary level in Punjab. Main objectives of the study were: (1) To investigate the present in-service training practices in Punjab; (2) To explore the deficiencies in in-service training contents/design; (3) To investigate whether skills for modern teachers were inculcated in the training; (4) To investigate that presentation skills of teachers were main focus of training. The population of the study consisted of all Trainers and Trainees (Teachers) at Elementary and Secondary level in Punjab. The sample of the study consisted of 665 Trainer and Trainee and for Supplementary Questionnaire the sample consisted of 621 Trainer and Trainee. Questionnaires were used for data collection. Two separate questionnaires were prepared for Trainers and Trainees. A Supplementary questionnaire was also prepared to address the remaining questions about Technology, Multi grade teaching, and Disaster management. Questionnaires were personally administered to the respondents. Data collected through the above-mentioned research instruments, were tabulated, analyzed and discussed category wise as Trainers and Trainee. All questions were developed on three points scale. xix The weight-age was given as (1) Mostly (2) To Some Extent (3) Not at All. For Statistical treatment chi- square was applied. It was not possible for the researcher to collect data from whole Punjab, hence the study as delimited to (1) Rawalpindi Division: Data Was collected from two Districts, Attock and Rawalpindi (2) Gujranwala Division: Data was collected from District Gujranwala This study is beneficial for trainers, trainees as well as Govt. of Pakistan Education Sector. Most of the findings of the study shows satisfactory results, hence many areas were found neglected which needs attention and needs to be addressed properly.en_US
