dc.description.abstractrrhe national economy of Pakistan has suffered a serious set back in thG last few years. Decline in the exports of cotton textiles coupled with less overall yield of cotton is considered to :)e an important factor. The Government of Pakistan due to its deep insight of the problems has iniated to conserve cotton alongwith man-made fibres and to improve the quality of the finished products. Pakistan Scie."1.ce Foundation has taken keen interest in the p rocl.em and has undertaken a _resaarch project entitled "Dyeing Pro·bla,1s in Blended li'a0rics - Study on Pakistan Textile Industry", at the National ·College of Textile ®gineering, Faisalabad. The work undertaken pertains to the study of processing behaviour of cellulosic/man-made fibre blends. The study is also supplemented by surveys of existing raw-material, machinery & equipm?,t and quality control f°tcilities ava Ll.e.ol.e in Pakistan Textile Industry. Pakistan Science Iloundation has been gracious enough to bear the cost of the project amounting to Rs. 3,04,302/- during three years, i.e.,.1977-80. We feel highly indebted to the Chainaan,Pakistan Science Foundation, whose moral and material support has enabled us to implement this i=,roject.en_US
