dc.description.abstract | During the project period of two years, the following steps were taken to accomplish the research project: 1- The relevant data for molecules were collected and the experimental work was initiated. 2- Under the permanent equipment head, a dual pen chart recorder from Cole Parmer (USA) was imported and installed to record simultaneously the reference standard and the absorption spectrum. Two vacuum gauge systems were also acquired. 3- The absorption spectra of lithium, potassium and sodium were photographed using the locally fabricated 3 meter spectrograph for which the financial support was provided by the Pakistan science Foundation under project no: PSF(54). 4- The spectrum of lithium dimer, potassium dimer and sodium dimer were also recorded using the Nd:YAG and the dye lasers in conjunction with the thermionic diode. 5- The experimental results have been published | en_US |
