dc.description.abstract | Regular collection made from localities along the coast of Pakistan as well as from landings at the fish harbor (Karachi). Collection sorted and preserved. Identification of collections as far as possible. Most of the identified species catalogued and carded. Collection pertains to nine invertebrate phyla. Live specimens kept and studied in the laboratory. They include a live Gorgonia and tree species of marine insects. Several specimens are collected for the first time from Pakistani waters. 15 species of Crustacea reared under laboratory condition. Several Molluscs spawned and early larvae of many species reared in the laboratory. One research officer conferred Ph.D. degree in zoology. One research officer conferred M.Phil. in zoology. One Ph.D and one M.Phil thesis in final stages of completion. Two students submitted M.Sc. thesis and were awarded degrees. Thirteen papers have been prepared of which two have been published, seven accepted for publication, and three are ready for press and one submitted for publication. | en_US |
