Abstract: The hygienic conditions in Pakistan not being adequate diabetes, kidney ailments and typhorial are wide spread. In the present work an effort was made to explore some indigenous medicinal plants known to have therapeutic consituents effective in preventing or curing above mentioned diseases. The investigation were carried out on the following plants: 1. Perovskia abrotanoides 2. Zea mays silk 3. Eribotrya japonica leaves As a result of this work on Perovskia abortanoides, several components of the esstional oils were reported and identified. Furthermore, pharmacological investigations of the esstional oils of perovskia abrotanoids as carried out in National Health Laboratories, Islamabad established marked anti-typhoid activity.
