dc.description.abstractOEM-500 and HY-400 are popular wind turbines for private utilization.This paper presents simulation-basedefficiency comparison of OEM-500 and HY-400 residential wind turbines. Bothwind turbines are considered and their technical data e.g. rotor diameter, cut in speed, cutout speed and hub height etc.are considered and values are simulated using a software packageandoptimized. Several technical comparisons e.g. turbine power in steady wind, turbine power in variable wind, annual energy production vs mean wind speed and payback periods etc. are provided to help choose a better residential wind turbine.en_US
