The use of herbs and medicinal plants as a first medicine is a universal phenomenon. All drugs of the past were the chemical substances with a particular therapeutic action extracted from plants. Leaves of Geranium Wallicianum have been used in many medicines including eye trouble, mouth ulceration, toothache, diarrhea etc. Therefore, the present study was undertaken to investigate the antibacterial activity of medicinally important plant. The experimental design was split block RCD. The experiment comprised of four concentrations of different solvent extracts. The extraction of plant was done by maceration method in various polar and non- polar solvent i.e Petroleum ether, chloroform, methanol, distilled water and their concentrations were prepared in a series of 30%, 50%, 70% and 100%. Well diffusion method was used for this purpose. The zones of inhibitions were measured against these strains and results were compared with commercially available standard antimicrobial discs. Fucanozole used as standard to determine the maximum inhibitory zone. All the conentartions were run through experiment and later on their combinations were prepared by selecting best results. In case of Brucella sp, 50% distilled water extract showed the maximum value of zone of inhibition i.e. 56.5+21.9a. T he maximum value of zone of inhibition was due to the presence of secondary metabolites like alkaloids and tannins that have antibiotic potential.en_US
