| Abstract: | Four species of algae, belonging to 4 different genera of pinnate diatoms (phylum Bacillariophycota Shameel) were collected from freshwater habitats in the Jauharabad District, Punjab Province of Pakistan during February and April 1995 and taxonomically investigated. This is the first report of their occurrence from this area. |
