Abstract: | The various crude extracts of the In vivo plant parts of medicinally important Eurycoma longifolia were observed to demonstrate antibacterial activity to all the tested pathogenic bacteria. The most effective antibacterial agent was the extracted compound from the roots of Eurycoma longifolia on Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853, Bacillus subtilis (CDR), Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 and Shigella flexneri ATCC 12022. In addition, there are also several other parts of this plants extract that produced good antibacterial activity against some tested pathogenic bacteria. Thus, the results obtained can be used to facilitate the development of antibacterial medicines for specific pathogenic bacteria to treat diseases caused by these bacteria. |
