| dc.description.abstract | Genetic activity of peptides isolated from cell-free culture filterate of dimorphic yeast Candida tropicalis (strain CBS94) was investigated in Salmonella/microsome reversion assay. The peptides induced either base-pair substitutions or frame-shift mutagenesis and one of this promoted both kind of mutations. A peptide also inhibited Mu induced lysis of Escherichia coli, indicating that the peptide could interfere with the growth of a bacterial virus | en_US |
