dc.description.abstractA total of 34 genera anal 78 species of algae have been reported from dry larifls of Peshawar, Kohnt, Bannu and D.I. Khan districts upto d depth of 15 cm. This includes 18 genera and 51 species in Cyanophyceae, 13 genera and 24 species in Chlorophyceae and 3 genera with 3 species in Xantho- phycene. Algal number decreased with increasing depth. Pive genera and 14 species wsie recorded as possible nitrogen-fixersen_US
