Objective: To assess the surgical outcome in terms of safety, efficacy and complications of B-TURP. Methodology: This observational prospective study included 60 patients with BPH. Patients below 45 years of age, chronic renal disease were excluded from study. Resection of the prostate was performed using Bipolar Resectoscope. Safety, efficacy and complications were recorded. Results: Mean age of patients was 55.588.54 years; 39(65%) were above 60 and 21 (35%) were above 55 years of age. Average duration of operation was 60 minutes and the catheter duration was 26.5 hours. Average hospital stay was 35 hours. The improvement in percentage once after the surgery for International Prostatic symptom score (IPSS) was 47.41%, quality of life (QoL) 56.67%, maximum flow rate (Qmax) 101.07%, and decrease in post void residual urine (PVR) 65.97%, respectively. All these percentages were statistical significant (p<0.05). Conclusion: We may conclude in our findings that BPH management with bipolar resectoscope was very effective. While Bipolar Resection has advantage of minimizing complications like TUR Syndrome, less bleeding and comparable operating time.en_US
