Abstract: A simple process is presented for the preparation of TiO 2 nanoparticles by Co-precipitation method. This process is relatively cheaper and by using different variation we can control particle size and shape. TiCl 4 was used as primary precursor along with Na 2 CO 3 for synthesis of Rutile nanoparticles. Synthesis was done with and without modifier. Structural characterizations of samples were performed by using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Results from these techniques confirmed the formation of single phase rutile nanoparticles. For compositional analysis EDX was employed. We observed the reduction in Band gap, in case of sample modified and then compare with other sample. This reduction in band Gap was very important to enhance the photocatalytic and electrical properties.
