dc.description.abstract | In field trials oilseed cakes of mahua, castor, mustard, neem and groundnut singly or in different combinations significantly controlled populations of plant-parasitic nematodes on tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.), eggplant (Solanum melongena L.), chilli (Capsicum annum L.), okra (Abelmoschus esculentus Moelch), cabbage (Brassica oleracea capitata L.) and cauliflower (Brassica oleracea botrytis L.). Excepting mahua cake which was phytotoxic to all test crops excepting eggplant, other cakes improved plant growth significantly. However, when mixed with other cakes, mahua cake lost its phytotoxicity. The efficacy of oilseed cakes was consistent in winter and summer growing seasons as well as at different soil pH and organic contents. | en_US |
