| Abstract: | Meloidogyne incognita readily penetrated the roots of Celosia argentia and developed to mature females. The nematode caused extensive damage to epidermis, cortical, endodermal and the vascular tissues. Severe vascular alterations were caused by the nematode giant cells in the stele. Karyokinesis without cytokinesis was the mechanism of giant cell formation. |
