Abstract: Interactive effects of reniform nematode, Rotylenchulus reniformis, and root-rot fungus,Macrophomins phaseolina, on lentil were examined. Both the pathogens caused significant reductions in length and weight of shoot and root, number of pods and root nodulation when inoculated singly. Simultaneous, as well as sequential inoculations of the pathogens, caused further reduction in the above parameters. In combined inoculations, however, the reduction was more pronounced in the simultaneous inoculation than in the sequential inoculation. The presence of the fungus had an antagonistic effect on the multiplication of the nematode, but the severity of root-rot increased in presence of the nematode.
