dc.description.abstract | Lemon peel (LP) was studied as a prospective adsorbent for the removal various dyes from aqueous solution using batch technique. Lemon Peel showed maximum removal of trypan blue 89.47% followed by methylene blue 85.37%, Congo Red 84.61%, Brilliant Yellow 82.85%, Reaction bleach 5 66.37%, Naphthol green-B 62.09%, acid orange 61.88%, crystal violet 57.27%, Ramazol BB 46.09% and Malachite green of 6.57%. Trypan blue (TB) was then selected to explore the influence of adsorbent dose, contact time, stirring speed, pH and temperature on adsorption process performance. Removal Percentage of trypan blue at pH 2 and 3 was almost same. It was observed that the adsorption capacity of lemon peel increases with increasing time (maximum 92.22 and 94.29 % after 48 and 96 hrs respectively). The equilibrium data has been described well by Langumir and Fruendlich isotherm model. It can be concluded from this study that lemon peel can best be used as low cost adsorbent for the removal of Trypan blue. | en_US |
