Abstract: Adsorption is potentially an attractive methodology for removing hazardous dyestuff and heavy metals from industrial effluents. In this work the removing efficiency of an industrially important dye Alizarin Red S from aqueous media using alumina as adsorbent has been investigated. Various parameters, which can influence the adsorption like, mesh size of adsorbent, contact time of solution with adsorbent, temperature, pH, adsorbent dose and stirring speed were optimized.
