Abstract: A new naturally occurring pregnane derivative named as ambiguanol (1) has been isolated from ethyl acetate soluble sub-fraction of the ethanolic extract of Caragana ambigua along with E-cinnamic acid (2), β-sitosterol 3-O-β-D-glucopyrano- side (3), 5-hydroxy-3',4',6,7- tetramethoxyflavone (4), 3,3',4',5,7-pentahydroxyflavane (5) and calycosin (6) reported for the first time from this species.
