Abstract: The chemical constituents of the essential oil of Vitex negundo Linn. var. cannabifolia (Sieb.et Zucc.) Hand.-Mazz. in Zhangjiazhai Mount, Yimeng Mountain Area, North China were analyzed by GC-MS. Fifty seven components were identified representing 90.313% of the oil. The main component was β-caryophyllene (26.301%), followed by 1,8-cineole (11.857%), sabinene (7.813%), trans-β-Farnesene (6.154%), α-terpinrnyl acetate (4.663%), caryophylleneoxide (3.609%) and terpenene-4-ol (3.543%).
