Abstract: | he antimicrobial and antioxidant activities were carried out on different parts including root, stem, leaf, inflorescence and fruit of plant of Rivina humilis L. It was revealed from the results that the plant extracts exhibited tremendous antibacterial potential against Pseudomonas aeruginos. The most significant results were obtained from chloroform extract of fruit, i.e. 46 ± 2.8 mm. The antifungal activity varies from good to satisfactory with maximum potential recorded against Aspergillus oryzae exhibited by petroleum ether extract i.e. 64 ± 0.5mm. Various extracts showed significant DPPH antioxidant activity with (petroleum ether extract of leaf: 89.1 ± 1.7% and fruit extract 83.9 ± 0.8%). Total antioxidant activity (methanolic fruit extract: 1.196 ± 0.43 nm), ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) (methanolic fruit extract: 16.94 ± 1.2 µM/mL), total phenolic contents (TPC) (methanolic fruit extract: 1.13 ± 1.20 gallic acid equivalents (GAE) mg/mL) and ferric thiocyanate (FTC) (methanolic fruit extract: 62.12 ± 0.8%). |
