A Rsearch Study of the Hadith Literature, which was compiled during the twentieth century in Egypt

Abstract

Hadith is the 2nd primary and most important source of Islamic Sharia and jurisprudence after Quran therefor it has been focused on from the start till now in each and every part of Islamic World. In start the companion of Prophet Muhammad Peace be Upon Him assembled and accumulated it in scriptures and memorized it in Madina Munawwarah and Makkah Mukarrama, and when they moved to the other parts of the world like Iraq , Syria , Turkey , Yemen , Egypt, etc they thought hadith to their followers and their followers helped them in spreading it in written and oral form. Egyptian Mohaditeen have played a well-regarded and esteemed role in services of Hadith and its sciences. Their outstanding contribution in this regard has been cherished and appreciated in each century of Islamic history. Those Muhaditeen have left valuable and remarkable work on Hadith and its science in their renowned books for coming generation. Muhaditeen of 20th century were not less than the former in their involvement in field of Hadith. Their dynamic and marvelous efforts are needed to be unveiled for scholars and students of Hadith so that they may come to know about their life history, achievements and their specific work on Hadith and its sciences. My research work focuses on research study of Egyptian Muhaditeen’s efforts in the field of Hadith in 20th century. This work consists five chapters, findings/suggestions and list of rich bibliography. Chapter 1st is about the introduction of Egypt and its importance in Quran, Hadith and Islamic history. Chapter 2nd explains how the companion of Prophet Peace be upon Him entered Egypt and how they stared propagation of Hadith. Chapter 3rd introduces known Egyptian Muhaditeen of 20th Century and their efforts in the field of Hadith. Chapter 4th focuses on known Egyptian Schools of Hadith and their role in services of Hadith in 20th century. Chapter 5th highlights the research work in the field of Hadith and its sciences in well-known universities of Egypt like Al-Azhar University, Cairo University, Alexandria University and Ain ul Shams University. May Allah accept this effort and make it a source of success here in this world and there in hereafter. (Ameen)
