dc.description.abstract: Intestinal health is very critical for wellbeing, welfare and performance of poultry. Generally, due to absence of available technologies, our knowledge about the variety of microbial species inside the chicken gastrointestinal system had been simplified. New technologies suitable for microbial species analysis have developed our idea. Food-borne conditions require reduction in bacterial infections by ingredients of animal origin. After the restriction of antibiotics use in poultry feed, there is a challenge for scientists to look for alternatives to reduce the accumulation of pathogenic microorganism. The use of alternative products to antibiotics have been increased due to consumer awareness and bacterial resistant to increase chicken well-being. Alternative to antibiotics are prebiotics, probiotics, essential oils, enzymes, volatile fatty acids, etc. However, new technologies should be developed for advancing the selection of these products for practical application in the chicken industry and more research about these products is necessary to promote chicken production in the absence of antibiotics.en_US
