Abstract: Medicinal and aromatic plants have immense value for the treatment of chronic diseases of man and animal (Atal & Kapur, 1982). These crops when grown in light soils suffer from nematode attack. Heavy infection of root-knot nematodes on Garmar (Coleus forskolii) and Solanum Khasianum observed at the farm of Medicinal and Aromatic Project, Gujarat Agricultural University, Anand, India motivated the authors to screen available medicinal and aromatic plant species to locate source(s) of resistance against root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne incognita and M. javanica).
